Privacy Policy

ScreenshotsOrganizer (referred to as "the App", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled.

1. 100% On-Device, Offline-First Architecture

The App is built with a strict offline-first design philosophy.

No Internet Access: The App does not request the android.permission.INTERNET permission in its Android Manifest. It is technically impossible for the App to transmit your data, screenshots, or extracted text to external servers, cloud storage, or third-party platforms.
Local Processing: All image scanning, optical character recognition (OCR), text classification, perceptual hashing, database operations (Room), and similarity searches occur exclusively and locally on your physical mobile device.

2. Permissions We Request and Why

To perform its core functions, the App requests the following permissions:

Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED): Necessary to discover, process, and display screenshots on your device.
Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC): Necessary to process background text extraction and organization safely without the operating system terminating the task.
Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to alert you when temporary screenshots (such as One-Time Passwords or OTPs) have expired and can be deleted to recover storage.

3. Collection and Sharing of Information

No Personal Data Collected: We do not collect names, email addresses, device identifiers, or usage logs.
No Screenshots Collected: Your screenshots remain inside your device's photo library. The metadata database constructed by the App is kept in secure private App sandbox storage on your device.
No Sharing with Third Parties: Because we do not collect or transmit any data, we do not share, lease, sell, or disclose information to any third parties.

4. Data Deletion and Retention

Local Control: All data indexed by the App is controlled solely by you.
Permanent Deletion: You can delete all indexed data, databases, and custom albums at any time by:
1. Uninstalling the App from your device; or
2. Clearing the App's storage via Settings > Apps > ScreenshotsOrganizer > Storage > Clear Data.

5. Children's Privacy

Because the App operates 100% locally and does not collect or transmit any data, it does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the ScreenshotsOrganizer application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading and installing the App, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

2. License Grant

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable, and limited license to use the App on your mobile device strictly for personal, non-commercial purposes.

3. Local Execution and Storage Management

You understand and agree that:

The App deletes image files from your device's storage only after you trigger a deletion confirmation (using system MediaStore API requests).
We are not responsible or liable for any accidental deletions of screenshots or loss of data resulting from your use of the cleanup suggestions.

4. No Warranties (As-Is)

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR BE FREE OF MINOR ERRORS.

5. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR STORAGE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

6. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App following any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
